Because, That's Life, I Guess (or Why I Support the 98%)

I did a first run with my taxes, inputting the information from my W-2's as well as the information from my student loans and my charity contributions. I thought, considering what was being taken out of my paycheck, that I would get money back. I thought wrong.

It seems, because I am a single mother, living in an apartment (because I can't get a house with my credit rating - see foreclosure, below), supporting a son who is not in college and can only work part time, I cannot claim the higher amount in deductions that one who is married and/or head of household (with a child under 17 and/or in college can claim). I work two jobs, but that just means I make just enough to be taxed more.

I may need to see if I can qualify for a payment plan, because I can't pay with a credit card, because I can't get credit because of the foreclosure of my house. Which I lost because I was left to pay my mortgage and bills on my own. I guess Leo Durocher was right - nice guys (and girls) do finish last.
