There are Serial Killers with Perfect Credit

...and lawyers who break the law. I think of this as I prepare to apply to move into another apartment, a nicer apartment. My credit history still dogs me (thanks, Bank of America). People don't realize that you can make your mortgage payments on time every month for 10 years, but if your husband leaves you and one of your other money sources ends abruptly, your credit takes a nose dive and you are branded as unworthy.

Which brings me to my post title. I had to tell myself some time ago that credit history is not the best way to judge a person. I have paid my rent here every month, and have had no issues (with the exception of one glitch early on where an old check hit at the same time as my rent check.) I work two jobs, and keep a fairly clean place. I also walk my dog several times daily, cleaning up after him when he does his business (which is something I have noticed others around here don't always do.)

I have co-workers who would go to bat for me regarding my reputation, and even old boyfriends and husbands who would agree that I was a decent person.

But, because the bank gave me misinformation regarding my mortgage payments and foreclosed on me by having my form robosigned, I am deemed unworthy of living in a decent living space. Yes, this is how screwed up this country is.
